The Beginning of Pro Health and Nutrition

The health shop was previously owned for ten years before Rana took it over. Through her passion for health and wellness, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

“I moved to Penarth with my family around interested in health products and when there was an opportunity to take over a health shop, I decided to make an offer and bought the business about a year and a half ago. Since taking over the business, I have made a lot of changes to the shop, and I have expanded the product range, quality and brands. Some of the new products introduced include; crystals, rocks, gems, salt rocks and lamps, which are very popular with my customers.”

Pro Health and Nutrition continued to grow a loyal customer base and thrive under Rana’s ownership.

“My shop is a family-based business and I offer a wide range of health products including aromatherapy oils, vitamins and other health supplements. Along with herbal teas, natural remedies. My customers always receive a friendly service and good quality health products at a good price.”

The Hit of the Pandemic

As with many businesses, especially independent ones, Pro Health and Nutrition was affected by the pandemic. But despite not being able to open for many months, Rana found ways to get her business name out there for her customers.

“With the pandemic situation, many people turned to online shopping or buying locally from the shops in the town centre. Social media has helped promote my business and allow my customers to see what health and nutrition products I am selling.”

What’s on the Horizon?

Despite the pandemic and the hit of the multiple lockdowns, Pro Health and Nutrition are looking to the future as they continue to grow.

“My aim is to continue to meet all my customers’ needs locally, and in the future even expand sales to the whole UK.”

And as we swap our sunglasses for sweaters, Rana plans for what will be in high demand this Christmas.

“I think with Christmas approaching and the weather getting colder, a lot more of our vitamins and supplements will be flying off the shelves, as well as our vegan products. And I have a feeling our crystals and rocks will be ideal for Christmas presents.”
