Gavin & Stacey’s Ruth Jones Headlines Stellar Line-up Of Online Author Events

Since the start of lockdown Penarth’s independent bookshop, Griffin Books, has hosted 18 online Meet the Author events, 35 live Storytime sessions, 12 virtual Book Clubs and much more besides. They have now revealed their impressive line-up for September, with more autumn events to be announced soon. Ruth Jones will be stepping into Griffin Books’ virtual bookshop on Friday 4 September to talk about her latest novel, Us Three – a funny, moving and uplifting story about life’s complications, the power of friendship and how it defines us all. The Gavin & Stacey screenwriter turned author will be interviewed by actress and local Penarth resident Suzanne Packer, best known for her roles in Casualty and Keeping Faith, before taking questions from our virtual audience. Limited tickets available, book now to avoid disappointment. 

Former First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones, will be speaking to Stephen Doughty MP on Thursday 10 September about his candid and timely autobiography, Not Just Politics. Sharing his story through two decades at the heart of Welsh governance, Jones provides a unique insight into the status of Wales as a nation and its relationship with Westminster. From the prime ministers he worked with to the state of the union in a post-Brexit world, Not Just Politics reflects on the highs and lows of his political career and reveals the man as well as the minister.
