2020 Travel Experiences

Travel gives us many amazing experiences, and next year is set to be no different. Here I take a quick look at what 2020 has in store across the world.
Looking for a honeymoon? You don’t have to travel too far to find this brand new 5 star adult only gem in Crete. Stella Island Luxury Resort & Spa offer couples Over Water Bungalows over lagoon-style pools and swim-up rooms that offer a perfect romantic retreat.
‘Rise of the Resistance’Â at Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge in Orlando will open in December 2019.
The Maldives recently welcomed a brand new hotel to its pristine shores in 2019 with Hard Rock, the first ‘integrated’ resort where guests can access ‘The Marina @ CROSSROADS’ which boats entertainment venues, restaurants, boutique, spa and cafes. Music fans will love the complimentary use of Fender guitars and Crosley record players for in-room jam sessions, as well as the swimming pool with underwater speakers. It’s The Maldives, but not as you know it.
Elephant Hills is unique adventure experience in Thailand which offer the chance to wash and feed the elephants whilst staying in a floating Rainforest Camp, one of the world’s only luxury floating tented camps. Combine it with a relaxing break on one of Thailand’s many superb beaches, or combine it with a visit to neighbouring Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam for the ultimate adventure.
Mauritius will boast a brand new hotel, LUX* Grand Baie, in 2020. With interior design from Kelly Hoppen and quirky touches like a pop up cinema on the beach with fresh popcorn and a daily hunt for messages in a bottle, which contain treats like a spa experience.
Lonely Planet cites Sri Lanka as the top destination of 2020, and where better to stay than.
Ikos hotels open a new family friendly property in AndalucÃa, close to vibrant Marbella. With Michelin starred menus and seven inspiring restaurants it’s definitely one for foodies. The all-inclusive programmed even includes the chance to dine out at the best local restaurants.
Brand new cruise ship Apex will join the Celebrity fleet in 2020 with inaugural outings from Southhampton. Innovative, fresh and modern, whatever you may have thought about cruising, think again! Choose from staterooms boasting ‘infinite balconies’ and villas with outdoor plunge pools. Add to this 29 world-class culinary venues on board, and signature spaces such as the incredible floating Magic Carpet venue, which moves between top and bottom decks, offering ‘dinner on the edge’ and live music.
Volcano Bay at Universal studios now boasts the Krakatau ride, which is an ‘aqua coaster’, a combination of roller coaster and log flume.
