Having been originally scheduled to open in April, The Schooner (Harvester) restaurant along Lavernock Road, is once again set to open as ‘Ego at The Schooner’ on 13th August 2020. Leaving the new restaurant partially completed throughout the lockdown period, Ego Restaurants were eager to get to work again on completing the transformation.

The new pub and restaurant is under-going a complete refurbishment inside and out and will serve up Mediterranean inspired food alongside cocktails and cask ale from local brewery SA Brains. Naturally, the layout and interior has been amended slightly to adhere to the latest government guidelines for social distancing.

As per the original opening, the restaurant will hold two charity launch nights on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12thAugust with the hope of raising £2,500 for local charities ‘2 Wish Upon A Star’ and ‘Thrive Cardiff’.  Local residents can enjoy two courses from the a la carte menu for a £15.95 donation with all the money being donated to the charities. Spaces are limited and can be booked online.

Craig Harding, General Manager for Ego at The Schooner explained, “After what has been such a strange time for everyone, we are so excited to be opening again. The support we got at the beginning was incredible and we really cannot wait to be a part of this amazing community.”

Ego at The Schooner are also signed up to the government’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme giving people the perfect opportunity to come and try the food for 50% off, up to £10 per head. The scheme will be available every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting Monday 17th August.
