Griffin Books is hosting the seventh annual Penarth Literature Festival over the weekend 6th-8th July. This year, the popular LitFest will feature a distinctly Welsh flavour, with events on Welsh history, landscape and art, showcasing local authors as well as the ever-popular broadcaster Roy Noble. There will also be a bilingual Elmer-themed workshop for children and the return of the popular Poetry Showcase.

The festival is great for families and lovers of literature of all ages. With all tickets being £5 and under, it’s a great opportunity to support local events and explore different types of literature on your doorstep. Here’s a handy list of events you can get involved with this weekend:

Friday 6th July:
  • ‘One Woman Walks Wales’ with Ursula Martin
Saturday 7th July:
  • Meet the Author Morning with Laura Kemp and Evonne Wareham
  • Welsh Poets in Fact and Fiction with Gareth Thomas and Phil Carradice
  • ‘Down the Road and Round the Bend’ with Roy Noble
Sunday 8th July:
  • Children’s Elmer (Elfed) Workshop with Shelley Norton of Talent Shack
  • ‘Ten Million Stars are Burning’ with John Osmond
  • One Hundred Years of Kyffin Williams with Rian Evans and Jon Gower
  • Poetry Showcase, hosted by Stephen Payne

You can get your tickets from ticketsource.co.uk/griffinbooks or by calling 02920 706455.  For more details of all LitFest events, visit griffinbooks.co.uk.
