Nearly two dozen of Penarth’s independently owned shops and cafes came together on 5 December to offer residents and visitors alike an opportunity to indulge in some late evening festive retail therapy.

One of the attractions on offer was a Christmas Hamper ‘prize draw trail’ – and on Saturday 22 December the lucky winner received their valuable prize comprising gifts and gift vouchers from each of the participating businesses (pictures below) from the current Penarth Business Group chair, Mr John McInally. The prize winner had been drawn at random from among the completed entries received on the evening by Shop in Penarth’s Tricia Griffiths.

The winner, Mr Gareth Davies, said ‘we had great fun following the trail and are thrilled to receive this lovely prize from the town’s independent businesses.’ Daughter Elsie (6) added ‘we love shopping in Penarth!’ Penarth Business Group intends to continue to provide enjoyable opportunities for local people to browse, get ideas, make purchases and enjoy the local high street.
