The Penarth Literary Festival is back for 2022 and is jam-packed full of amazing bookish events that we can’t wait to get involved in. From book readings to crime-writing workshops, there is something for everyone. But a lot of these events have limited spaces and must be booked in advance, so get in there quickly!

Caryl Lewis: ‘Seed’ – Children’s Event

Join Caryl Lewis as she introduces her new novel SeedSeed is a funny and uplifting story about the power of the imagination and the importance of believing that anything is possible. Seed started with a little idea, a seed of an idea, and grew into a marvellous adventure. So, where do writing ideas come from? How can we grow them? And where can they take us? Listen to Caryl to find out and hopefully you’ll leave with a few ideas of your own.

This event is suitable for children ages 7-12. Please note accompanying adults do not need to buy a ticket, but you will be required to stay with your child/children for the entire event.

Crime-writing Workshop with author Katherine Stansfield

Peter Finch: ‘Edging the City’

We are delighted to be holding an event with Cardiff legend Peter Finch, author of Walking Cardiff and Real Cardiff, to discuss his latest book Edging the City

Peter Finch is perhaps the foremost chronicler of Cardiff, past and present. His response to the 2020 lockdown restrictions confining people to their local authority area was to begin walking the boundary of his. This was in a mirror of his long walk along the south Wales coast recorded in Edging the Estuary.

Storytime with author Lauren Ace – Children’s Event
