A new defibrillator has been installed outside a Penarth care home, with public access welcome.

The defibrillator, which has been installed outside Cliffhaven Care Home situated on Clive Road, was donated by the Barry Rotary Club.

The installation and cabinet were funded by the care facility.

Defibrillators are devices that send an electric shock or pulse to the heart in a bid to restore a normal heartbeat.

Recent events involving 29-year-old Christian Eriksen, the Danish footballer who collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener, and Maqsood Anwar, who collapsed earlier this month whilst playing Cricket, show just how vital it is to ensure defibrillators are available.
