Cllr Ian Buckley has presented a local educator with a gift on behalf of the governors of Cogan Nursery after announcing her retirement.

Headteacher Pauline Rowlands has dedicated the past 15-years of her life to teaching, with Penarth Town Council posting on their website: ‘Cogan Nursery has been key in the development of so many children from Cogan, Penarth, Cardiff, Sully, Barry and Dinas Powys . Children at Cogan Nursery join when they are 3 and transfer to primary school in the September before they are 5. Ms Rowlands has been at the start of so many educational journeys over the years during her 15 years at the nursery.’

Cllr Buckley added: “Pauline has dedicated the last 15 to ensuring her pupils were given the best possible foundation to build their academic and social future on, while ensuring that the parents and staff were equally looked after and valued.”

“She will be sorely missed by everyone that has been lucky enough to have had the pleasure of working with or studying under and we all wish her the very best for the next chapter of her life.”
