A local business has won the Innovation Award from the British Cleaning Association. EClean Commercial, who offer services across South Wales and South West, were ‘absolutely ecstatic’ to have been nominated for the award. Speaking about what winning the award means for them and their business, Ceri Maunder, the Director, said: “Covid and the restrictions that came with it meant we had to adapt and change quickly. The way we worked, the products and techniques we used, the way we managed our teams and how we dealt with our clients all had to change. In some ways, it was like starting a business from scratch and having to learn along the way all whilst the world turned and looked at the cleaning industry to stop the spread of Covid! We were nominated for this award because of the innovative way we dealt with these challenges and still do. So winning it meant so much to us, and our hard working teams as it has been incredibly tough the past 18 months and all this whilst having to home school kids as well. We feel very proud, proud of ourselves and proud of our teams.”

Currently working towards securing some large office blocks and residential apartment blocks, EClean Commercial currently offer COVID and core cleaning services to the commercial sector. Ceri added: “Customers can rely on us as we are a very hands on, adaptable company, which we have proven throughout COVID. We are dedicated to developing ourselves as managers, and developing out teams skills and knowledge within the cleaning sector.” 

All entries were judged by a panel of experts, with judging having taken place on 29th August. With categories including Green Business, Employer of the Year, Innovation, New Business, Service Excellence, Family Business and Employee of the Year, each business shortlisted received a framed certificate as their award.
