A local business has raised £520 for Macmillan Cancer Support with a Barry Bake Off, which saw talented bakers coming together to help make the impressive achievement.

The Business Centre, situated on Cardiff Road, held the bake off last Friday with the help of Mel’s Cafe. 17 cakes were assessed by a panel of judges who had a difficult time deciding the winners.

After much thought, the winning cakes went to Abby from Mels Cafe, Francis from Bakers Food and Spencer from Dynamo.

The Business Centre is an independent owner-managed company that offers Serviced Offices Virtual Offices, Conference and meeting room hire as well as reception and business address facilities.

Taking to their Facebook, The Business Centre said: “We’d like to send a special shout-out not only to our dedicated and talented bakers, but also to Mel for once again arranging this event and successfully executing it!”

“And, let’s not forget our judges, James and Karen, who undoubtedly had to make some very tough decisions! The competition was strong.”

“The final shout out goes to each and every one of you at The Business Centre, we couldn’t ask for a better team!”
