Over the past few weeks we’ve seen the devastating effects COVID-19 has had on the business community we support, champion and are proud to be part of. We know that for many of our advertisers and sponsors, the past couple of months have been some of the hardest many have ever seen in business.
On our website and on social media, we've been celebrating all that is good that has come out from this dark hour. Whilst we'd love to continue advocating our fantastic business community through our magazine, we have needed to change what we do, given the restrictions currently placed on our lives.
So we have decided to publish a digital-only issue of Penarth View this summer on Issuu, and will focus on how our wonderful community has come together during the crisis.
Free advertising? Yes.
With spring having been a complete wipe-out, and summer looking very uncertain, we know money and spending on marketing will be a major concern for people. However, without marketing now, businesses risk being invisible, as things inevitably get back to a new normal. It is those businesses who are seen at the front of the wave which will reap the rewards of easing of lockdown restrictions.
To support this, Penarth View have already offered free advertising and sponsorship to our most recent advertisers. If you have advertised with Penarth View in either the Winter 2019 or Spring 2020 issues, we are offering a re-print of a previous advert completely free of charge. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Other advertisers, who want to run a new advert, or are new or returning advertisers, may book advertising at a highly reduced rate of £90 for a double-page-spread (instead of £690).
Advertising for the rest of the year
As we look towards the rest of 2020, and as the effects of COVID-19 become clear for each business, we will put our publishing plans in place. At this moment in time, we are still planning to publish a printed magazine for autumn and winter and we will try to help as many of our clients through this as possible.
Online
We are publishers first and foremost, but we also have a highly engaged following on social media, and our website traffic has increased by 417% between January 2020 and March 2020.
We've been sharing positive stories from the town, highlighting other businesses who have pivoted to offer delivery or click and collect services, and more on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as our website.
