The Glamorgan Heritage Coast has one of the best rock pooling sites. When the tide is out, a vast area of its rocky beach is uncovered, revealing deep pools filled with all sorts of marine fauna and flora.

Join us as we start our exploration along the strandline. Here we might come across Mermaid’s purses, sand hoppers and crabs. Then we explore the rock pools dotted around the rocky beach looking for shrimps, sea anemones, starfish, periwinkles, limpets , barnacles , mussels and much more.

Sturdy shoes recommended to walk amongst the rocky pools. Also come prepared for changeable weather along the coast.

Children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
