Speakeasy Club is delighted to partner with Old Penarthians Rugby Club, and welcome Hull City legend, Dean Windass to the Clubhouse on Saturday 13th August 2022.

Dean played over 600 games as a professional , scoring over 190 goals for 10 different clubs plus a number of non league appearances. Dean will tale some fantastic tales from his time as a professional, but none more important than THAT playoff goal at Wembley in 2008.

39yrs old, scoring in the winning goal in the 39th minute for your hometown club, in the Championship playoff final in 2008. Doesn’t get much better than that. Watch the moment here.

If you haven’t seen it already, Dean was part of a fantastically powerful video produced by LadBible, with Heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury. Both Dean and Tyson talked about their challenges with mental health, how they navigated them and the support the did and din’t have. We highly recommend taking 10minutes to watch it. 

Hosted by Speakeasy Club and supported by Old Penarthians RFC, Dean will reminisce on some tales from his career on and off the pitch. This will be followed by a Q&A including a deep dive into his time with Hometown club Hull City, Bradford City, Aberdeen as well as his thoughts ahead of the nights Champions League final, and questions from the audience.

We will also be raising money for charity on the night – for mind Cymru and the Princes Trust Wales – auctioning a signed 2008 Hull City shirt, personalised from Dean to the winning bidder.
