Prints on the Pier

This exhibition has been organised by Cardiff Print Workshop to showcase the work of members. It represents a diverse selection of print techniques including fine examples of lino-cut, etching, collograph and mono-type printmaking.

Cardiff Print Workshop was first set up by ‘AADW’ (Artists and Designers in Wales) in 1979 as an open access printmaking workshop. It is now permanently based at Chapter Arts Centre in Canton where they run art classes and printmaking courses for the membership and the wider public. The organisation operates as an artists’ co-operative and currently has almost 30 members. These are made up of both amateur and professional artists and printmakers seeking to develop their technical skills and artistic practices, whilst also exhibiting and promoting their work as part of the group. CPW is a valuable resource for artists and graduates who otherwise may lack the space and equipment to continue printmaking.

Cardiff Print Workshop holds regular open days for visitors to view the studio and facilities. There is also a small gallery offering changing exhibitions of the members’ work and a huge variety of hand made prints for sale at affordable prices, open every Saturday from 10-4.
