Owen Sheers – ‘To Provide All People’


Join us for lunch with Owen Sheers who will be discussing his poetry book themed around the NHS.
Award-winning poet, playwright and novelist Owen Sheers, will be reading from his 70th birthday tribute to the NHS in prose poem form, ‘To Provide All People’, recently dramatised by the BBC, and answering audience questions. 

 

Depicting 24 hours in the service, with a regional hospital at the centre of the action, the poem charts an emotional and philosophical map of the NHS against the personal experiences that lie at its heart; from patients to surgeons, porters to midwives.

Doors open at midday for a 12:30pm start on Friday 14th September at All Saints Church, Penarth. Tickets cost £10 including a light lunch.
