Dick has been a stalwart of the South Wales Jazz scene for quite a few years. After leaving music college, he was active on the touring circuit, with artists such as The Supremes, Martha Reeves, the Drifters and many others, and since then has done a huge variety of work, ranging from countless theatre shows to the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, radio and TV sessions.

Playing jazz has always been the passion though, and Dick has played alongside the likes of Stan Tracey, Pete King, Alan Barnes, Bobby Shew, Dusko Goykvic, Tal Farlow/Red Norvo and many more. He currently works with the Capitol City Jazz Orchestra, and runs a quartet, sextet, and latin 8 piece, playing his compositions/arrangements. He has recorded 2 CD’s as a leader, the most recent being with top US alto player Greg Abate.

In Music Education, he has formed and directed a successful Youth Jazz Orchestra, taught in schools, RWCMD, and conducted jazz workshops around the UK, as well as in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Dick is joined by incredible fellow musicians Mark Sambell on piano and Ashley Jon Long on bass.
