Music at No.5 Presents : Jazz Singer Sarah Meek

Jazz Singer Sarah Meek hails from Cheshire and is now based in Cardiff after studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Sarah brings a new youthful energy to jazz with her powerful and versatile delivery, coupled with an engaging stage presence and wide musical knowledge that has found her Welsh, UK and international audiences.

Sarah will be playing with the Sheek Quartet. The Sheek Quartet is a group led by Cardiff based musicians Guy Shotton and Sarah Meek. The pair have developed a strong musical relationship over three years of working together and have recently formed a quartet with RWCMD drummer, Alex Goodyear and London bassist, Nick Kacal.

Their set draws on a wide array of musical influences; fresh, classical suffused arrangements of standards and borrowed melodies from the works of Debussy and Ravel rub shoulders with interpretations of Chick Corea and Kenny Kirkland compositions.
