Lecture: Twelve Art Days of Christmas at Turner House

A festive lecture led by Art Historian Morgan Haigh pairing the twelve days of Christmas with some of the greatest works of art from European History.

From milking maids by Vermeer to Hogarthian leaping lords, Renaissance holy doves to nineteenth-century French hens and medieval golden rings, this wide reaching talk will attempt to match great works of art with the often bizarre lyrics of the popular carol revealing their secrets and context along the way.

Ticket includes a glass of mulled wine and mince pie.

Morgan Haigh MA is an independent researcher and art Historian of The Courtauld Institute of Art, London. Morgan has guided tours at the National Gallery, Tate Gallery, National Gallery of Art Washington DC, and V&A. He recently appeared on the BBC’s ‘University Challenge’.
