Grid Forty Five
Buildings communicate with us, often through small and intimate features which go by unnoticed. By creating new, kaleidoscopic imagery, Grid Forty Five turns the conventional view of architecture on its head to reveal a secret language within our built environment.
This is a new photographic exhibition for The Turner House which challenges the way we see the world around us.
See some familiar buildings from Penarth, the Vale and beyond as you’ve never seen them before.
Grid forty five is an ongoing photographic project by Gareth Strange and Sarah Burley, who run a design studio in the Vale of Glamorgan called John & Jane. The concept was born in March 2017 from a single photograph taken at the Hadyn Ellis Building, Cardiff University. The duo were struck by the modern beauty of the building’s horizontal and vertical lines which created a juxtaposition of complexity and simplicity.
