Class: A History of Buildings by Morgan Haigh

A five-week course in the surroundings of The Turner House Gallery…

A History of Buildings explores some of the finest architecture of the millennium in both Europe and North America. Each week takes a different type of building from great cathedrals and palaces to seats of government, war memorials, and domestic homes. Discover, through the lives of these buildings, their makers and inhabitants, the story of the world we have built around us. From the suburban semi-detached to the megalomaniac visions of dictators, unbuilt wonders to utopian schemes, learn to read how messages of power, hope, peace and tragedy are encoded in the very fabric of the architecture which surrounds us.

No previous knowledge of architecture is required!

Please note this is an IN PERSON class taking place Tuesday, 11am-1pm at The Turner House Gallery. Places are limited.
