Art History Lectures – Painting Winter
Painting Winter: Snow Scenes in Art
Presented by Stella Grace Lyons
“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape- the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”- Andrew Wyeth.
Magical, festive, beautiful, harsh, cruel and bleak-this talk will explore the variety of interpretation of this season through the works of Bruegel, Caspar David Friedrich, Monet and Andrew Wyeth.
Please note: the lecture begins promptly at 7pm
Ticket price of £15 includes a glass of wine following the lecture.
