Donations have continued to pour in after Penarth’s much-loved special education school was broken into during the Christmas period.

Ysgol Y Deri, a special education school that caters for a wide and diverse range of differently able pupils, was targeted in December, with surf boards, wetsuits and other kit stolen.

A fundraiser, set up by Ysgol Y Deri Parents and Friends Association, has reached over £7,300.

Along with donations already received, Ross, the Head Boy at Ysgol Y Deri, gratefully accepted a cheque of £1350 that was kindly donated by The Penarth Association of Lodges based at Penarth Masonic Hall. The donation will go towards the stolen surf equipment.
