Families across the Vale have been invited to take part in a Sandcastle Building Contest this August. 

The Vale Of Glamorgan Council have teamed up with Beach Academy Wales to bring the ‘leave no trace’ event to the sea-side town. 

Up to 200 teams are expected to compete against each other in a bid to win one of three prizes. 

Competitors will be judged based on their creative building skills and can only use sand. 

The event is the first coastal event of their 2021/22 events programme. 

There will also be some fun challenges on the beach, with Beach Ball Golf and Castle Bucket Tower expected to be in the line-up. 

The competition will be taking place on Monday 23rd August from 11am to 3pm.
