Vale of Glamorgan Summer of Fun Big Butterfly Count

Join us at Porthkerry Country Park and discover the butterflies that call it home.

There are 59 types of butterflies in the UK. How many can we spot in our walk? Butterflies are not only beautiful as they flutter about in spring and summer. Butterflies are also pollinators, food source for other wildlife as well as predators . Their presence, absence or abundance shows the health of our natural world.

 

So in this walk , we will also do a bit of Citizen Science to record what we see as part of the annual national Big Butterfly Count.

 

This activity is free of charge and funded by the Welsh Government Summer of Fun programme
